Session Description:DOING GOOD BY DOING GOOD BUSINESS: Exploring studio models that support student access and teacher wages
Music teachers often undercharge out of a desire to make lessons accessible to all students. While this approach is born out of generosity, it can jeopardize the teacher’s financial well-being and lead to resentment, overwork, burnout, and, in some cases, leaving the field entirely.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Sustainable wages for teachers and accessible music lessons can coexist. This session explores creative studio business models that serve both teachers and students.
