005A – 5 Tell Tale Signs That Perfectionism is Slowing You Down and Causing Procrastination: Part A

Summary

Perfectionism. We have been friends for far too long. Procrastination. Fear. Uncertainty. All can point to a root of perfectionism.

Today, we are continuing our miniseries with Amy Elmore on mindset for music teachers and talking about perfectionism.

Questions for Reflection

Do you think of yourself as a perfectionist?

What are your signs and symptoms of perfectionism that you find yourself exhibiting?

Do you find yourself over thinking your decisions?

Do you often feel a sense of regret after you make decisions?

Is fear the main emotion that holds you back from wanting to start something new?

Do you worry about what others think of you?

Do you spend a lot of time pondering over something you have done and wonder “what if” you have made a mistake?

In what situations do you find yourself exhibit perfectionism behavior regularly? Is that issue severe? Or is the issue minute enough that we can just say “oops” and move on?
